Hello. I have read about various tweaks on the internet regarding windows XP and there is so much discussion about page file/v. memory. There are plenty of registry fixes that I can apply manually, or to set the amount used for page file with a mouse from system properties. I don't know what fix will fit best for my configuration. I am trying to release couple of megabytes and that's it. I have 1GB of ram, which means.... ? Thanks in advance.

Hello. These tweaks were invented because of performance and nothing else, which means default (system managed size) is the most better option. Minimum is 1,5 times of your RAM memory. Maximum recommended is 3 times. You should not play with this, as you may encounter serious system performance degradation. The most better performance solution is to place the page file on the second hard drive if you have one more. Than you can set static page file size. 1500 mb as minimum and maximum. In this case, one HDD head has much less job to do, while the other drive is writing page file in the same time. I call this tweak virtual array. Smile
