Hi.This morning my system became unavailable because of a cable. I have noticed at least that. Because, my friend brought such conclusion after plenty of various tricks inside. The drive was connected to his machine where initialization began right away, and with no problems. He told me what to look for, but I have forgot what was the name for it. Thanks in advance.

Serial or Parallel ATA interface cable. These are cheap and without any voltage protection. How to know what is what? So, it is quite usual for them to just become dead. S-ATA is smaller, actually not that much wide, usually red and much more resistant. Much better and newer solution. Parallel ATA is flat, older version and if that's what you need, than look for the Ultra ATA 133.
