Hello! I have one ribbon cable and two IDE devices. I have hard disk and cd drive. So, I am not sure how can I hook up them. My friend told me that I should pay attention on something, but I cannot remember now, because it was long time ago. Can you tell me more about this? Thank you very much!

Hello! I think that your friend told you to pay attention on jumpers. When you have to IDE devices and when you want to hook both of them on same ribbon cable, then one of them must be master and other slave. So, look at jumpers schema on your hard disk and cd drive. Hard disk set as master, and cd drive as slave.
