My graphics card slot is burnt up after a sudden voltage changes. I don’t know what to do now. Is this condition serious and how much? I would be grateful if you could suggest me what steps to take. I really need to fix my PC very soon because I have a lot of work to do. Thanks in advance!

The fact that not only your graphic card burnt but also its slot, means that you have a problem with your motherboard also. It is surely serious because I think that you will maybe have to replace the motherboard also, which can amount to a considerable sum which you will have to pay in order to restore your PC. Anyway, maybe there is a way to replace only the burned slot, but I’m not so sure about that. Another thing that I would suggest you to buy in order to prevent similar situations in the future is an UPS device which will regulate voltage and which can be very useful when there are some electricity problems.
