I had 10GB hard drive on my computer with ECS P6VXM board. Lately, he started to give me more and more headaches. He simply started to loose files. I bought a new 20GB hard drive two weeks ago. It was not recognized as a secondary drive. Is it possible to install 20GB HDD on ECS P6VXM board or my new hard is also bad as the old one?

I do not think that your new 20GB hard drive is bad. Maybe your old drive is also good. The possibility that two drives went bad on the same way in the same time is very small. Your ECS P6VXM board supports 20GB hard drives. Maybe you will need to update board BIOS. I think you should look for the reason of your problem in some other parts of your computer. If you installed the OS on your new hard drive from the beginning then you can be sure that OS is not the reason for your problem. Computer components that could cause a problem like yours are board drivers and memory. You should try to borrow the same type of memory as yours and try your computer with it. If it acts the same then you probably have the problem with your IDE controller on your board. For help with that matter you will have to go to the professionals.
