Dual Core vs. Single Core CPUs

| Hello there. I am still using single core CPU. Celeron @ 2 gigahertz. I still dont see why should people are using Dual core CPUs if they are not attending to play games with their machines, or if they dont want to compress video material .. I am trying to say that I still dont see any complete benefit out of these processors, when Barton or Intel P4 3.06 Northwood still does their job perfect. Everything is different when you have a lot of RAM memory, no matter at which speed processor is operating, dont you guys think so? |

| In some certain ways I agree with you. But not everywhere. I think that it is only a matter of time when will 64 bit apps, or applications made for the dual core processors, going to be launched rapidly. But it is nothing more than the speed, because the root, if I can say so, of every PC desktop core is practically intact. There are no architecture improvements except those over the speed fields. There, I agree with you. I agree with the fact adding the huge amount of RAM memory + strong and very fast: chipset, graphic card and Hard Disk Drive, will equalize the performance for the human brain. |
