Hello! I have weird problem. Namely, my DVD/CD ROM no longer reads CDs. I have tried with various cd media, but it seems that wont read any of them. I am really confused and this is very irritating problem, believe me! I hope that you will have more experience regarding this subject and you will advice me.

Hello! I would say that you may need new IDE cable. It could happen that your IDE cable became corrupted. Also, if I were you, I would try with cleaning cd media. You did not tell me if your dvd-cd rom can reads dvds or not. If it cannot read dvds, too, and can burn dvds/cds, then, maybe laser for reading became failure.
