I bought a computer two years ago and it worked fine until yesterday. Yesterday my Windows XP automatically download update from the Microsoft site. When I tried to install that update, I got an error message. Now I lost sound on my Creative SC. What can I do? Should I try drivers reinstall?

First thing that I say to all my friends is not to install any updates if everything works fine. Anyway, let us deal with your problem with no sound on your Creative. First, try to install that update one more time. Maybe you had only some temporary problem and now it would install correctly. If that won't help then try to restore some Restore point. Also, try to reinstall your sound card drivers. You can also try to reinstall Direct X on your machine. If nothing of this helps, then you have only one more option. It is painful but obviously necessary in your position. Complete reinstallation of your operating system will certainly fix your problem with no sound on your Creative sound card.
