Hello! I have Conexant 56K PCI modem. Yes, I still use dial up connection to the internet, because I do not use it almost at all. But, since few days ago I am not able to connect to the internet at all. I have called technical support of my internet service provider, btu they told me that everything is all right with connection and that I probably have some problem with my modem. Have you any idea what problem could be?
Hello! Well, I think that you have problem with Conexant 56K PCI modem driver. I suggest you to uninstall existing driver and try to find the newest version of it (you can download it from the internet. Not from your computer, of course; but from some other computer) and to install it. This will solve your problem for sure.

Same problem here but a little different. I downloaded the driver for my Conexant modem for Ubuntu and it almost works. It dials out, starts negotiating, and then the line is dropped by the ISP. Soooooooooooo close but... Any ideas out there?
