I have lot junk files and old unneeded data on my hard drive. I have decided to clean this mess up, but do not know where to start. There is really many files and for some of them I do not if I can remove and not destroy something in the process. What do you recommend me for cleaning my HDD?

There are few programs that do things you need. They all do the same thing and there is not some big difference between them so you can choose any. Just be cautious for there are some reported problems with these applications. Sometimes they delete something they should not. To be sure, create system restore point before using any of these tools.
