| I am newbie Linux user. Past two days Im trying to find drivers for ATI Radeon X1900 series for Linux OS. I have asked all my friends, but with no avail. I have found some sites which promised me miracle, but when I tried to download, downloading couldn't start. Can you help me, please? |

If you want propriety drivers, you have to check ATIs official web site. Have you been there?
On to this site, click find driver in the drivers&software menu. Choose your OS (linux x86 or x86_64), then choose Radeon, and finally X1900 series and button GO. If you arent sure which version of XFree86 or Xorg your Linux distribution use, download and execute Check.sh. When youve checked, download appropriate ATI Driver Instaler. After that, check installation instructions (same site). Be warned that installation is not likely to go smoothly, cause that drivers has various issues with various Linux distributions. You will have to tamper with configuration files.
