I need some help with my motherboard driver update. My motherboard could not properly see my new hard drive, therefore I downloaded the latest updated driver from the Internet. However, when I try to install downloaded file I get an error message. To be even worse, I do not have any sounds and I can't find sound card in Device Manager.

I don't think that your audio card is damaged. I think other reasons are causing your problems. The simplest and most possible one would be an error in the process of downloading. That way your driver file might be damaged. To check that, you should try to download it once more and than try to reinstall it. You may also have a wrong version of driver for your operating system. Your version of drivers could be for some other operating system like Vista or 98 and you probably have a WinXP. In that case, you have to find and download the proper version for your operating system. You should check is your sound card positioned firmly in its slot. Last reason for your problem could be that your driver update may need some service pack or add-ons. If that is the problem, download and install them first.
