Hi there. I have very odd problem with c-media sound card audio device. Here is my problem. When I have plugged the damn thing in the computer ... found new hardware... I have started the setup and waited for very long for setup to finish the install procedure, it didn't. I have pressed reset button on the case and had in mind to start over again, but now I can't see the card anywhere. Physically is present, but not on the screen. What the hell this is? What should I do and where did I go wrong?

You probably made a mistake during the driver installation procedure. There are differences between Win 98 and Win XP driver, but there are no significant ones between the setup. Remove the package from the add/remove programs list and try again. Refresh the device manager after removal, and locate the .inf file manually. This is how I dealt with this card when I had similar problem.
