| I'm trying to install a printer and a scanner, but I keep getting a "communication error", whatever that might mean. I kind of figured, amateurishly, that the scanner is having problems recognizing the printer, am I right or am I right? And more importantly, what can I do about it? TIA |

What make and model is the printer, and what make and model the scanner?
Actually, it's not that important, really. If the report is communication error, than odds are it's a port situation, and both pieces of hardware are trying to use the same LPT port. That's be the first thing I'd check.
