I have a Bellsouth modem and when I try to connect to the internet there is a problem. I have been constantly getting the message ‘limited or no connectivity’. Do you happen to know what this message means and how to try and fix it? I have reinstalled my Windows and after that the problem has occurred. I must have done something wrong.

I suppose that the reinstallation is the problem. Maybe you haven’t installed the right driver for that modem. I know that sometimes upgrading to another Service Pack can cause some problems. Check out if you haven’t installed some other version of Windows XP, perhaps forgetting to add SP 2 because certain devices won’t work on SP 1. Maybe you have also closed some ports or something. I don’t know how to check this out but maybe there is also some kind of web interface where you can go and see the internal settings of the modem. Check also how you have plugged the cables because sometimes some very trivial things can cause problems.
