| Hello. I have made a back up to my system very recently, and I have image stored on the other partition. Now, because I am very, very serious user or, with other words, I have very important data there, I am wondering, how much is smart to keep the image archive on the hard drive without burning it to the CD or DVD? |

| Well, hard drives are usually very tough components and designed to suffer really as much as necessary. Some CDs can last up to 7 years without so called fading of data. When you burn the data on a CD and after that you just nicely store the medium on a shelf or a drawer, it will be much more safer, rather than keeping the image on a hard drive. There is always a way to infect any file on your hard drive, right? |
