Hello! Few days ago I’ve install Thunderbird email client. It was not newest version so I went to Preferences to choose auto-updating option. After that and restarting Thunderbird, update process was started. And here comes problem. It won’t upgrade Thunderbird. Everything stops. Any ideas what might be and how to upgrade Thunderbird? Thank you.

Hi! Little advice from me. It’s better to download upgrade package manually and install it. Somehow I don’t trust auto-updating process. Any little mistake with internet connection may cause crash of Thunderbird or even operating system. I suggest you to download update package from Mozilla’s web site. I hope this will solve your problem.

Hi! Before installing update package make sure you delete all Thunderbird cache and Windows Temp directory. It’s possible some files are inside that folders an they may be confusing for new update files. Also, while installing update, disable all antivirus software. Don’t worry, update files won’t infect other files with a virus.

Hi! I’ve try to update it in different way. After downloading update package which was packed with zip archive, I’ve unpack it in some folder on my hard drive. By this I was able to see all folders and update files. So, I just copied all of them into Thunderbird installation folder. This worked for me.
