Hello. It is certain that Vista is no more what it was - another disappointment. It is also certain that M$ really spent a lot of their time to fix all mistakes. These are successfully packed inside SP1. People are more and more curios about this operating system. I am still using windows XP and my machine specs are enough to meet the Aero. So, my dear Vista users, am I going to regret if I switch to? What can I expect regarding privacy and so on and on? Thanks in advance.

Vista without service pack 1 is not recommended. At least not from my point of view. It is really quite different story. I think that Vista is even more reliable than Linux with all security solutions it has. I have tried Vista Ultimate, and yes there are plenty of programs included inside, none of them is useless, I guess. Windows defender is there, you need to confirm twice for every sensitive applet such as device manager is and so on. With default settings, you can say that you fell really more secure. This time, hackers should give their maximum.
