I want to add a new 512 MB Ram stick to Acer Aspire, but I am not sure which module I should buy.It is a model Asprie 5024wml with 512MB DDR which is actually consisting of 2 modules .I read that it is upgradable to 2GB. I want to upgrade it to 1 GB, what shall I buy? Can I use faster memory… Thanks in advance

Of course you can use the faster memory, if your motherboard supports it. RAM memory does not need to be identical, But, you just need to know that if you combine slower and faster memory, the faster one will down clock to the level of the slower one. I think it is better for you to buy 1GB module and replace one of those two modules. My advice for you is to take DDR 400, I think it is supported just well with your system. And as for the manufacturers, I would suggest you to buy Crosair, Kingston or Crucial. Those are, in my opinion, three top brands. Good luck with it.
