I want to make a small mixed wireless/Ethernet home network? What kind of equipment do I need? It needs to serve some basic purposes –file sharing between computers and sharing internet connection. Now, I am really a novice when it comes to this matter, and I would really like to hear your hints on how to do it. Thanks a lot

Hello there. If you are a beginner, you will have serious problems making a network, and I would wholeheartedly recommend you not to do it yourself. It is better to find yourself someone professional, who will make that network for you, in no time. I mean, I really do not doubt your knowledge or your brains, but I think that it could turn out to be a great waste of time and energy. Or, take the bull by the horns , and take it one step in a time. First you need a device that can distribute signal both using the wires or without them. My recommendation is Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router, and you can find manuals on the net.
