I had some visual glitches with this card, and a friend told me I should try updating the drivers. So I did, went to the ATI site, downloaded the latest version, installed … and bam! My card won't work anymore! Actually, it does work, but screen resolution won't go higher than 800 x 600, and starting any game that requires 3D acceleration locks up the machine. To put it bluntly, WTF!?

I'm not an ATI man myself, so I can't really help you, but just to make things clear – you do know that you can always return to the previous version of the drivers installed, right? When you open the device properties, click driver details, then choose the "roll back driver" option. If that doesn't work, you should clean out whatever drivers you have installed (use a 3rd party utility, ATI's suck) and install the drivers cleanly.
