Hello. I have this motherboard with some older components, and very severe problem, which I didn't saw anywhere so far. The sound card is being detected by the system, but without any idea of starting the hardware. It says code 10 from the device manager. I have checked the speakers, headphones, everything. No avail. What should I try next? Thanks so much in advance.

The next thing that you should try is to check all other PCI slots as well. Actually to switch places with some other PCU card for example. This is either damaged motherboard of which we are talking about or it is nothing else but a hardware conflict between two adapters. You might want to try other drivers if these aren't the official from the CD. Also, some newer Live Version of Linux CD, should work without any problem if the integrated hardware sound chip is not damaged.
